Aeration and oxygenation

In Finland the marginal costs of future improvements in waste water treatment will be high with regard to the benefits. Reduction of the oxygen consumption in sewage treatment plant can be over ten times more expensive than by using for example our Mixox oxygenator as a post-treatment method. The transfer capacity of Mixox is more than 10 kg oxygen / kWh at best.

Our products are used to aerate and oxygenate natural waters such as lakes and palms. In aeration the oxygen is transferred directly from the atmosphere. In oxygenation the oxygen reserves in the water are used.  We in Water-Eco have the equipments for the both methods.

Internal loanding as a problem

Lake eutrophication and pollution are common problems affecting all industrial countries. Phosphorous-rich external loading coming from different sources is the main reason for eutrophication and lack of oxygen of the lakes. But even total exclusion of external loading might prove insufficient. In many cases suppression of internal loading is also needed for effective purification.

Methods like oxygenation and aeration are the solutions to help a lake to maintain its self-purification process. By pumping oxygen-rich water into the hypolimnion the internal loading will be reduced and the healing process will begin.
